I use the Montana HC 200gr WNFP-Coated bullet and had a few misfeeds in my G20.5 at 1.25″ COAL. I shortened to 1.24″ COAL and it worked in my pistol without further problems.
I use a .422 crimp after seating, basically just straightening out the flare of the casing. I usually load .5gr less than max book load; using A#5, A#9, BlueDot and CFE-Pistol.sas-G20.5ParticipantPlease let us know how your experience goes using Gen3 mags in a Gen5 G20 I am seriously interested in knowing.
I have been reluctant to buy previous Gen mags because of the differences/improvements made to Gen5 magazines.
I know that the follower is different, and the base plate is larger- I don’t know if they are sprung any different or not.sas-G20.5ParticipantI’ve been reloading since 1977. Started with .38Spl, .357Mag, .44Spl and 45ACP, then around 1989 I added 40S&W then I took a 10 year hiatus when I didn’t reload much of anything. I started back up in 2012 with .357Sig and in 2015 .44Mag. The powders that I used have been Bullseye, Unique, BlueDot, 2400 and A#9. Most recently in March 2023 I added a Glock 20 Gen5 in 10mm and have added A#5 and CFEPistol to the mix. I am very much enjoying my re-immersion into reloading after my retirement in 2019.
As far as a favorite powder, I believe that I would have to pick A#5 or CFEPistol because I find that they can be used from mild to almost maximum velocities in all of the cartridges I reload. I rarely load absolute maximum reloads anymore, I find the 90% of max to be the most accurate.- This reply was modified 1 year, 2 months ago by sas-G20.5.
sas-G20.5ParticipantLol, what powder did you use to get your bullet out of low-earth orbit?
