Accuracy Load ?
« on: September 03, 2017, 07:42:45 AM »
I'm curious. Is there a target load out there that is recognized as a load that shoots tight in most if not all 10mm's? I have 3 10mms. I would like to find one load for use in all three for plinking and target shooting.

There are specific loads for the 38 Spl. and the 45 ACP that are accepted as being accurate in most 38's or 45's. I have loads for the 38 and 45 that shoot tight no matter which gun I use. I would like to find one for the 10.

BTW I have a lot of 170 gr. lead and 170 grain plated bullets. I have AA9, Unique, Power Pistol, Blue Dot and HS6.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Well I have to say that the 10.2 - 10.4 grains of Blue Dot was always my go to target loads with my 175 grain cast Lyman TC and Speer TC (swc).  I will say that I hand weighed these for match grade consistency, it nice to hit inside of 4" at 130 yards...

will second the  10.4 blue dot and 180gr plated in the stock barrel as for me the best overall
( but I don't weight each one :)  )

I don't know of a specific load.... But it is generally accepted that Blue Dot is the most accurate powder for the 10mm.

Load data testing by bullet manufacturers often says this.

I believe #9 to be a close 2nd, where it can be used.

Thanks guys.

I'll work up some loads with Blue Dot and try them.

Guys

I just loaded up some 170 grain plated bullets in front of 10 grains of Blue Dot and went to the range.
Rested I put ten rounds went into 3 inches at 25 yards. Eight of those were under two inches and five were touching.

I guess 10 grains of Blue dot or there about is going to be my plinking load. I may try tweaking it but I'm very happy with the results.

Thanks Guys!!
