Factory 10mm ammo / Carry ammo and let's be real
« on: December 09, 2017, 07:38:25 PM »
You're facing a 300 lb man who is at least 15" thick through the chest aiming a gun at you so his arms will catch the rounds first.

In my situation, with a Glock 29,what would you carry? I was trusting the Underwood 200 XTP until I seen the Chopping Block video where they failed to expand at all. Justin at Underwood said the 200 Nosler is better from the 3.77 barrel. I'm still carrying my 175 Critical Duty. 1070-1080 fps from a G29. Which puts performance dead on with a Glock 22,which is down right impressive. Hornady using the Interlok design on the FTX is genius. There isn't a better barrier basher on the market (screw those snake oil xtreme defenders etc).

I want the 200 GD loaded to Norma's 1200 fps or I'm going back to the Underwood Delta Elite load.

Thoughts on this are always good.

29SF made Sept. 2016. 9x25 Dillon barrel, 4.6" 10mm barrel, two 10 round mags, three 15 round mags, two x grips.

I want a compact Sig P320 in 9x19 or 357 sig. Color doesn't matter.

It just isn't for me after I tried it. It's fits a G29. I'm looking for trades. 357 sig barrel. Combination trades with a G20 smooth trigger. Maybe some metal sights.  Tell me what ya got.

General Discussion / G29 accuracy with 4.6" barrel
« on: November 21, 2017, 04:22:18 AM »
For some reason accuracy is all over the map. It was so bad I got my stock barrel  and 5.5# connector back. Accuracy came back then. I think my 29 disagrees with this barrel.

Any ideas?

General Discussion / I can't help but want this
« on: November 15, 2017, 03:31:10 AM »

I'd rather have a SRH in 454 or 480,  but something about it in 10mm seems sweet. Even though a Glock 40 will do the same thing for hundreds less. Hell for that matter a 6" barrel in my G29 will do the same thing.

But am I right to assume, the Ruger, you could load 220-230 grain  Hardcast to longer OAL and get mo-powa from the 6.5" barrel?

10mm Hunting / Need some advice
« on: November 12, 2017, 07:14:43 AM »
I passed up a 20 yard shot on a 6 pointer Friday, because he was quartering towards me. If it were my 338 WM I'd expect it to break the shoulder and destroy the vitals. But with my 10mm, I had second thoughts. I had the stock barrel in my 29 and it was loaded with Underwood 200gr XTPs. Would it have went through the shoulder and still made the kill?

Now when I go out hunting with it, I'll be using my 4.6" barrel. For some reason that would have made me feel a little more confident.

General Discussion / Getting my extended barrel

I finally found a nice fella who has a 4.6" 10mm barrel and we've worked out a trade.

Do any of you have a picture of a 4.6 in a Glock 29? I know it will boost performance a little for hunting. Doesn't aftermarket barrels usually always run faster than Glock barrels? I hope it doesn't key hole with the 220gr Hardcast.

General Discussion / I want this more: 10mm Lever Action!
« on: November 01, 2017, 07:16:25 PM »

Lucas McCain would have wet dreams about this machine. 10mm Auto, 12 rounds, and the most fun you can have with your pants still on!

I'm betting Underwoods 10mm 220gr Hardcast might push 1500-1600fps from the 16.5" barrel and I bet that'd be a dandy Elk gun. Am I expecting too much from my beloved Ten?

General Discussion / Who likes to buy guns at wholesale?
« on: October 31, 2017, 05:08:32 PM »
I'm helping a friend thin his dad's collection soon. Sigs, Glocks, H&K's and Colts. He is willing to take a loss. I will be pricing them $10-$20 above wholesale (as soon as I call around and get wholesale cost) . For example a new Glock 19 (if he has one) will possibly be $449 for a 3rd gen. These guns have been just stored, to my knowledge they haven't even been fired. I know there is two of the New Delta Elite and some 10mm Sigs in the mix (one is a kryptec p220) I'll update this as I get details sorted. I'm just seeing if there is interest here in any of this.

Patriot, I hope it's ok if I move them here.

General Discussion / 7" barrel for the Glock 40
« on: October 29, 2017, 03:28:15 PM »
KKM is making a 7" tube for the G40. Would you be able to get 1400 fps out of a 200 grain?

The damn barrel looks like a golf club lol

Factory 10mm ammo / Carry load revisited
« on: October 26, 2017, 04:27:48 AM »
I'm thinking about swapping the ammo in the gun to a less penetrating bullet. Something in the 12" range in jello tests. Maybe use the Underwood 135 Nosler for my 10+1 and keep the 200 XTPs in my backup mags. I was laying in bed discussing it with my wife, and I got to thinking how many folks are actually 16"+ thick. It's just hard to imagine a 135 grain bullet, leaving a 29 at 1600 fps, not being able to reach vitals.

Also the 135 would penetrate a tad better from a 29 due to a little less velocity.

The other rounds I've considered are. :Doubletap 125 Tac-xp, UW 150 Nosler, or 155 GD or XTP. Maybe the 155 XTP from Defender Ammunition.

Any thoughts on this fellas?

I know this is the wrong forum, but I wanted everyone to see it.

I asked if the bullet was going to be available as a component, and here is the reply.

Ken, as of now it is not a reloading component. I would think that this will change in the next little bit, not sure when.
