10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Grand Power 10mm ?
« on: January 16, 2018, 06:19:33 PM »
I used this one as I already had rear night sights.

I talked about the install a bit on another thread. No big deal, 20 minutes with a fine file.

Thanks for the reminder, and yes, they are for real. I have not yet purchased from them, but I have friends that have and have had no problems.

Wow, sorry you had all those problems. I had the mag drop issue and that is cured now. It did cost a trip to the gunsmith but it was worth it. Never had the dent in the barrel or the sights issue so I can't help you there. I'm a big fan, there are a lot of benefits to it as well, reduced recoil and the brass is much closer to you.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: New to this site, not new to handgunning

Looking for ideas on the next purchase.  already have 1006 and G20.  Grand Power looks interesting.  Maybe 1911 style.  Hoping like crazy that Ruger makes a PC10.  Mp10's are too spendy for what you get.  Hi Point carbine is well...a hi point...  Thanks for the ideas!!
I'll throw my hat in...

I have a G20 and G29, Sig, Colt Delta, RIA and a GP40.

The G20 and G29 are boringly reliable and reasonably accurate.

The Sig is beautiful, reliable and accurate, but heavy for a single stack.

The Colt Delta and RIA are both reliable and reasonably accurate, but 1911's and magazine limited.

The GP40 took some time and a trip back to the factory before it was 100% reliable, this was due to the magazine release. While it only happened to me when it was new there was always the chance it would do it again. It won't now. Night sights took a while to figure out as the front sight in Tritium was not being imported any more and likely the rear one is not also. However the CZ 75 front sight is a replacement with a little filing on the sight and I suspect the rear sight also. At some point I will purchase one just to see if it fits and the POA is correct. But on the good side, the Grand Power is quite accurate and the recoil (and brass retrieval) is very nice. My guess is the action not being a Browning but a rotating barrel has a lot to do with that. It is currently my favorite and my EDC as well, at least until the weather gets hot again.

But really, you can't go wrong with any of the 10mm choices. I'm looking to get a blackhawk next as well as a Hi Point.

Welcome to the forum!

I have been reading this forum for about a year and have learned a lot about 10mms. I've stated collecting them and it is now my caliber of choice. I have polymer and steel, revolvers and semi autos and love them all. Each gun has it's own personality if you will that makes them all fun to shoot. The hard to find guns are the best challenge and that keeps it interesting. When I figure out how to do it I will post a picture of my 10mm family.
Welcome to the forum and I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your family.

Still looks like a Glock  :o  ;D

Yeah, how is it supposed to be so different?

Hahahahaha!

I didn't see that one coming. So glad they are innovating.

I am not a fan of the XD guns, but I would probably buy an XD 10mm if for no other reason than to send a message to other manufacturers that my dollars are available for non-1911 10mm guns.  Especially ones that hold more than 10 rounds.

I would also, but no more 1911's please.

And my Star Model BM 9mm should be at my FFL from Aimsurplus, so Merry Christmas to me :)
My wife shoots but doesn't really know what gun or tools I need and that is just fine. I just get them for myself.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: Magtech 10mm 180gr FMJ

I would imagine it is rebadged S&B after reading the brief article at http://www.selwayarmory.com/sellier-bellot-10mm-auto-180-gr-full-metal-jacket-box-of-50.html that Magtech owns S&B. Same specs as the S&B ammo.
