General Discussion / Re: New Glock 19X Jan 22nd

Once again Glock has come to the rescue with a quality product that is nothing more than a parts swap that they charge more for.  It would seem the current motto for Glock management is, "quality without innovation".  I love my many Glock's but suspect Glock's opinion is their customers are idiots.

Back when the Gen 2 was out some major gun people (magazine writers, police, etc) wanted the Glock to have finger grooves so Glock made their guns with finger grooves (Gen 3). Now the same people want a Glock without finger grooves. I think Glock properly assessed that their customers are idiots who have no clue what they really want.

I have purchased guns from this place before. They are not a scam.

(Almost) useless POS pistol.

I have nothing against 380ACP. I had several and still have one.

Factory Ammo / Re: Buffalo Bore 9mm 147gr Hardcast
« on: December 27, 2017, 03:38:04 PM »
FYI these would not work in either of my CZ’s. They would lock everything up. The bullet would pull out of the casing and lodge in the barrel. Likely due to the tight chambers of CZ’s. Not a winning combo. Worked great in my G19.

CZ pistols have the tightest chambers out of any 9mm I have encountered. They also have a short throat. I do not think their chambers are to SAAMI specification.

Any issues?

Hardcast bullets have been used in 357 magnum revolvers and rifles without problems. 9mm isn't much different than 357 (.356 vs .358 diameter and both operate at the same pressure: 35K psi)

This is like bringing a 50-year-old fat hooker to a bachelor party of 20-year-olds.

Springfield Armory making an announcement Dec 15th!  Only guessing and no idea if it is a 10mm...

The letter "X" means 10 in roman numerals.

Do people still watch James Yeager?

There are only a few major gun channels on Youtube that are not full of crap: Jerry Miculek, Forgotten Weapons, InRange, TN9outdoors, are a few of the good ones.

As for the other channels: A clock that is broken may be right two times a day, but a clock that runs backwards is right four times a day.

I do not know about their 10mm stuff, but their 45ACP followers are the most jam resistant I have found.

I looked at the link you posted, and it looks like the 10mm mag uses a different follower.

Sorry, no help.

I had drawn up some plans for a 9/45 (45ACP necked down to 9mm). Basically, the same thing. I didn't have access to a machine shop, so it never got past the drawing stage.

Of course you will lose some pressure because of the barrel/cylinder gap so unlikely you would get the same velocity as you would with a semi-auto with the same barrel length.

A revolver barrel is measured from the end of the cylinder to the muzzle. A pistol barrel is measured from the breach-face to the muzzle.

A 6" revolver barrel would have about 6.25" of bullet travel while a 6" Glock barrel would have about 5.35" of bullet travel. The difference is almost an inch. That would probably make up for any loss from the cylinder gap.

Fast forward 35 years....I loaded it up with some Hornady 190gr FTX bullets.  Unfortunately, the way they are designed,  they really eat up case capacity in the Avenger case, ...

Cut the tip off with a razor blade.

Does he have a Gen 3 Glock 20 or 21 that is the large size (non-SF model)?

I have no money anyways.

Here is an oddball 7" compensated barrel on eBay. Looks like it is made in Austria.
