Hey guys. Good morning
I’ve been loading for a while and I’ve been on and off with 10mm since 2007 or so.
Here a year and a half ago or so I got an sig xten. Had to get a box of factory ammo to start shooting while I was waiting on components to drop.
I got 500 S&B jhp started. Then I got 1000 winches ranger t pulls. After that I order 3500 180gr hst pulls. I’m just finishing loading the last 200 or so hst now.
I was using Alliant 2400 to start. I love the powder for heavier bullets. But it’s so bulky you don’t get the speed out of it. I use it with some 200gr Nosler ASP bullets I picked up. Then I played with some some shooters world heavy pistol. Which loads pretty identical to 2400. I had it left over from some 458 socom loading. So figured I’d burn it up.
I got 5lbs of aa #9 for the 180s. I really like the powder. It gives me pretty good velocity. I run about 1240fps at my charge of 14.5gr.
I also load a bit shorter to get away from the mag clearance issues with certain bullets. So my col is 1.245” instead of 1.26”.
It’s a great shooting combo. I’m about 2500 rounds through the pistol now.
I picked up 1000 165gr gold dot pulls to load and play with. I ordered a couple pounds of longshot to use with it. But for the mean time I loaded a few to check length and velocity with my #9. I loaded at 15gr and 1.245”. I’m gonna run out to shoot them tomorrow.
Anyhow. Just figured I’d make my first post kind of all over the place lol. -

Shooter’s World HEAVY PISTOL D037-02 Heavy Pistol Powder: is LOVEX D037-02 which is the same as AA#9 burn rate
Shooter’s World MAJOR PISTOL D037-01 Major Pistol Powder: is LOVEX D037-01 which is the same as AA#7 burn rate
I found 2400 to be too slow for me so I started out 1990 with Hercules Blue Dot which yielded great accuracy.
Longshot is great for high velocity loads.
BE-86 has proven great overall with various bullet weights and types.

I’ve got heavy pistol also. But running a 13.5gr with a 180gr bullet only gets me 1125-1160fps. And it’s a lot more snappy than 2400 or AA #9. I loaded 10 up with 14gr aa9 to go shoot today hopefully. My other powder should be here Monday or Tuesday.

AA 9 works great especially with CCI 350 primers in 10mm
14.0 with 180
13.0 with 200
