This was the first time I have shot a pistol with a red dot sight and the first time shooting this gun. I put 200 rounds of 180 grain hollow point hand loads through the gun with zero issues. I found the gun to be very accurate shooting standing unsupported at 7 and 15 yard distances. The red dot was the Hex Dragonfly and once I got it adjusted it was 10x accurate. The only issue was the power switch plate came off sometime during the season. I was shooting warm loads using Longshot powder but disappointed that happened. I think their warranty will cover that though.
Also was not really impressed with the trigger on this gun. I found it to be somewhat heavy and not have a real crisp break. The reset was a bit weak to me also. Now my impression may have been somewhat biased due to shooting my Walther prior to the XDm Elite which has an excellent trigger and is one of my favorite range guns. The flip side was that the XDm produced tighter groups than my Walther which has always been one of consistently accurate pistols.
Final impression is that the XDm Elite is a well built, consistently accurate shooter. I can see why a lot of shooters love their red dot equipped pistols. Looking forward to loading some 10mm xtp bullets with different powders and see if I can further improve the accuracy. More later.
