Just wanted to give a big thanks to The_Shadow for his efforts rebuilding the factory 10mm pull-downs. This has to be very time consuming, and am very grateful for your efforts…Thanks Wade!

You all are welcome KenK! Most of these documentations were from forum members who shared some of their stash for the purpose. It also sparked the interest of others to do their own documentations and post them as well.
I felt it was only right to repost the info here again! In the older forum the pictures were there to show exactly what was found when I did them so others could also learn more about the powders as found. Posting Pictures here posses a challenge but the documentations are such that a handloader can understand the technical data posted.
Knowing some of the ammo was obsolete, rare and often times expensive, I put the ammo back together just like it was found and returned them to those that shared it. To me the information was worth more to myself and the others than the cost of mailing it back.

These documentations also help to preserve what was used then and actually showed changes as the shortages of powders took place. Also, companies had to utilize what they were able to get during those periods where what they were normally using wasn’t available for the same recipes.

As I was reposting the documentations this time around, I reviewed some of the powders that were questionable because I had better info of the powders and the pictures, so I made some changes to correct those as posted. There were only a few changes of the powders.

Over the years it was stated that companies used PROPRITARY POWDERS! Well there are some that have, such as Winchester, Federal, Hornady had some made for them and Black Hills. However most of the stuff was the same off the shelf powders available to us as handloaders.

There were people testing the info found as the put their own ammo together and some posted their results. A couple of things I did note was some of the velocities were the same or slight differences as tested from their firearms.

I will say a a long time handloader these documentations furthered my passion for the 10mm and other cartridges as well.

There have been many newer runs of ammo that would be of interest to document just for the sake of learning what’s being used.
I’ll have to drop into some of my local stores to see if they actually have stuff in stock for me to get.
I think we have seen some reductions in velocity performance from peoples’ testing, while the supplies were harder to obtain for the products.
I know powder and primers have been starting to make a comeback, but prices remain elevated. Still waiting out the situation myself with hopes of finding a particular powder locally.
The next POTUS could make or break things for sure…
      Best of luck guys!
