To be fair the only other companies making full size 10mm 1911's are Armscor/RIA, Colt, Coonan, Dan Wesson, Kimber, Nighthawk, Ruger, Sig, STI, Wilson and Republic forge....And all the semi-custom and custom shops.

They could have offered a commander sized 10mm w/ 4" barrel and generated some buzz.

This.  The only game in town right now for a 4" 1911 in 10mm is RIA.  This is an area where some folks would have probably ponied up.

Instead they jumped into an already crowded market with a "me too" offering.

I hope it sells well, but I won't be helping those sales.

You can add Fusion Firearms to that list.

I honestly was totally underwhelmed. Where the heck is that XD 10mm the CEO was blathering on about back in February. Sure hope it shows up at shot show otherwise this was a waste of time for $1800

I think some are missing the point.  Another 10mm by a major manufacture will only go toward developing more factory offerings in 10mm.  I have several 10s in 1911 form, 4 Nighthawks and three Dan Wessons with a custom DW round butt on the way yet once I looked at the TRP I bought it.  It has a real feel for quality and it is my first rail.  I may use it more as a house and car gun.

Dan Wesson Bruin or the Springfield TRP is the question.

I don't think the Remington R1 which is a rebranded Para Elite Hunter is even in the same class. I believe I can say that because I have a Elite Hunter and have handled a Bruin. I think springfield added the rails for aesthetic reasons supposedly the frame is beefed up there and would look odd without the rails.

I agree about the Para.. I would go with the Dan Wesson Bruin  Which im thinking about doing

I would like to try a Rock MS 4" 10mm but i would want it for carry and not sure how much work i would have to put into it to trust it

I have the Bruin and love it.

I had the Para prior to that.  It was an accurate shooter and I never had reliability issues.  It is certainly not fit and finished as nicely as the Dan Wesson but it is also half the price.  If you are the kind on person that is going to whinge at the thought of your $2000-3000+ longslide getting beat up a little in the bush, and you don't like Glocks, the Para for 1K is a very functional option.
